Wheelbase was first established in 1979 as a business running alongside Walton Lodge Garage, which at the time was the Volkswagen Audi main dealer in Walton on Thames.

In the summer of 1990 Walton Lodge Garage closed and Wheelbase was relocated to its present site in Hersham village. At this time current owners, Colin Marshall and Keith Rhoods were Wheelbase technicians, but by 1995 they had bought the business.

Wheelbases team now comprises nine staff. Colin and Keith are supported by five on the technical side. Jamie Prentice on the sales side and Diane Bann the team’s administrator.
